Your fishing trip
Where do we fish, and what can we target?
Captain Conlon guides on Calcasieu Lake (also called Big Lake) and Sabine Lake in Southwest Louisiana. Redfish, speckled trout, and flounder are our main targets. Tell Conlon what you’d like to catch so he can discuss the location and plan with you.
Do I need fishing experience?
All experience levels are welcome—from your first cast to years of fishing. Conlon brings 13 years as a professional fishing guide and tens of thousands of hours on the water. Let him know your experience and goals when requesting your trip.
What boat will we fish aboard?
You’ll fish aboard a 25-foot Haynie center console with plenty of storage for gear and personal belongings, and a comfortable setup for a day on the water.
How much does a private fishing trip cost?
Morning, afternoon, and full-day trips are $750 for two or three people. Casino pickup trips are $800 for up to 3 people. We recommend two to three anglers per boat for the best experience. Four-person fishing trips are $1,000 total and are available for families with children by prior arrangement with Conlon. Choose a morning, afternoon, or full-day trip and confirm the details with Conlon.
Can you accommodate corporate groups or bachelor parties?
Yes! Large corporate groups, bachelor parties, and small groups are welcome. Call ahead with your headcount and preferred dates so Conlon can arrange the boats and trip details.
Before you go
What is included?
Live bait, rods, reels, tackle, bottled water, ice, and cleaning and packaging your catch are included in every private trip. You can focus on enjoying your day with your crew.
What should I pack?
Bring lunch and snacks, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, a light rain jacket, your own fishing gear if you prefer, and a small ice chest for extra drinks. Bottled water, ice, and fishing gear are included.
Do I need a fishing license?
Check your licensing needs with Captain Conlon before the trip, especially if you’re visiting from out of state or planning to fish Sabine Lake. Review the official Louisiana fishing license information for current options and requirements. Arrange any required license before departure.
Can children come, and what about life jackets?
Families and young anglers are welcome. Include each child’s age in your request and contact Conlon ahead of time to discuss properly fitting life jackets and any other needs for your family.
Can I bring my own rod and reel?
Yes! Rods, reels, and tackle are included, but you’re welcome to bring your own fishing gear or a favorite setup. Let Conlon know what you plan to bring.
Can we keep our catch?
Catch cleaning and packaging are included. Ask Conlon about the current harvest rules for your trip and how best to transport your fish home. Let him know if you prefer to catch and release.
Pickup & lodging
Where will we meet?

Can you pick us up at a casino?
Pickup at L’Auberge or Golden Nugget can be arranged with Conlon. Mention your hotel and preferred dates in your trip request so you can coordinate the details.
Can you arrange on-the-water lodging?
Yes! On-the-water lodging can be arranged when booked far enough in advance, subject to availability. Call early with your dates and group size to discuss options and lodging costs.
Booking & weather
How do I book, and when is my trip confirmed?
Choose your trip, date, and number of anglers on the trip request form. Conlon reviews each request and accepts or declines it. Submitting a request does not confirm your date; your trip is confirmed only after acceptance.
Do I pay a deposit online?
No payment is collected through this website. Conlon will discuss any deposit, payment arrangements, and cancellation terms directly with you when arranging your trip.
What if the weather looks bad?
Contact Conlon before traveling if the forecast looks unfavorable. He’ll discuss conditions and the plan for your trip with you. Confirm any weather-related changes directly with him.
When should I book?
Reach out as early as possible for your preferred date, especially for larger groups or trips that need lodging. Tell Conlon about any flexibility in your dates and the kind of fishing you’d like to do.
Let’s plan your trip.
